  • Halloween at Muncaster

    Dare you visit one of Britain’s most haunted castles this Halloween?! See the Hawk & Owl Centre’s fantastic Twilight Owls display when our falconers fly a selection of our beautiful owls in the gardens after dark in low-level lighting and with atmospheric music.Starting promptly at 7pm, the display lasts approximately 30 minutes (separate top-up tickets required as places are limited).

  • Coniston Power Boat Records Week

    Coniston Power Boat Records Week is the only event in the Powerboat Racing Calendar to bring together all classes of boat. Entry is open to all from tiny hydroplanes, through inshore circuit racers to the largest offshore boats. It is the finale to the racing season. Competitors and officials from all over the country assemble annually for what has been a popular event since it's inception in 1970

  • Brantwood Annual Christmas Craft Fayre

    The Craft Fair is an annual event for Brantwood and over the years has developed a name for quality crafts. The event is an opportunity for crafts people to showcase the very best in local art and craft. Over 30 stalls will be situated throughout the house including jewellery, textiles, pottery, woodwork, original artworks, prints and cards, baskets, bowls, pots, and clocks as well as homemade Christmas puddings, cakes and preserves – to name but a few. Craft demonstrations include swill-basket making, wood turning, spinning, rag rug making, pole lathing, and new this year, raku-fired pottery.  There will be plenty of ideas for unusual and unique Christmas presents and handmade objects for the home.  Brantwood Café will be serving seasonal fayre including our traditional mulled wine to put you in a festive mood.

  • Ambleside Christmas Lights Switch On

    Every year on the second or third Saturday in November, the people of Ambleside parade through the town at dusk,
    carrying hundreds of paper lanterns.Young and old turn out to witness this spectacular procession, as traffic is halted and Christmas street lights throughout the town centre are switched on as if by magic by Santa Claus.
    Then there are FIREWORKS . . .
